Summer Finale!

Life never stops moving!

This past summer has been crazy busy, but I have grown SO SO much as a musician!

The last week of the Domaine Forget festival was incredible! Let’s see how much I remember!

Monday was our day off because of the concert on Sunday. I spent the day exploring the campus and trying to find all 24 of the outdoor sculptures and take a picture with each of them! There should be an Instagram video coming soon of my adventure! I ended the adventure down on the beach and got to relax and watch the river flow. It was relaxing and beautiful! I enjoyed walking the boardwalk and the beach, looking for rocks in the sand! I also stopped by a local shop to purchase some artisan goods and cookies!

My phone died after that, so I returned to my dorm and practiced until I had enough battery to go to dinner and ice cream with my friend Sarah! I tried my first poutine! For those of you who don’t know what poutine is, it is French fries covered in a brown gravy and cheese curds. It was interesting… Not horrible… Not my favorite…

What an amazing day it was. I also spent some time that evening looking at the stars. Because we are so far away from a big city, the Milky Way was very easily visible, as well as other recognizable constellations. The bugs were not my friends, however.

Tuesday and Wednesday felt pretty standard as we had both morning and afternoon rehearsals with plenty of time to practice and experience the area. I believe it was Wednesday that there was an activity put on by the student staff for us to make friendship bracelets! They had all kinds of beads and we were able to make whatever we wanted! I made some case charms that match the colors and titles of the festivals I attended this summer. I will forever treasure all the memories and friends that I have made on my adventures.

Thursday, I decided to head back to the beach to do a fun self-portrait photo shoot! I got all dolled up and had such a fun time frolicking across the sand and the shoreline taking pictures! It was a great start to the day! After lunch, we had our final dress rehearsal for the concert that evening. The program was ???

Hey! So, funny story… because I had gotten a late start on writing this post, thanks to my computer’s extended stay in Canada, and school was super busy when I got back, I haven’t had any time to finish this post! And what is sad is I can’t remember a whole ton without having to find programs, papers, and other things that I had during my trip. So I will have to leave the rest of the story to be told later.

What I can say is that this summer was one of the best of my entire music career. I made so many incredible connections, I grew as a performer, and connected to music, faith, and myself even deeper than I could have imagined. I gained tools and insights into the professional world and feel like I have a better idea of where I am headed.

I would not trade those experiences for anything. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Bye for now!
